Our team has a background in technical theatre, live music production, construction and electrical engineering. We love working together to produce incredible results and ensure we make the process as enjoyable as possible for everybody involved. Crucially we share a desire for continuous learning and development.

Managing Director

  • Peter Gibbons

Peter is the face of LUX. He manages the daily challenges of running a business and looking after the team.

In 2009 Peter recognised an opportunity to create a technical company with a fresh approach. In the early days he was supplementing income providing discos and supporting local school plays and theatre groups. Nowadays, he is lucky enough to be fulfilling his dreams, flying around the world with the team, delivering bespoke innovative digital projects and installations at exclusive events and parties. He is proud to have built such a fantastic team around him and relishing in all the opportunities and variety of projects.

On the rare occasion Peter gets five minutes to himself, you will probably find him in the mountains skiing, following the formula 1 or on an adventure in the countryside.

Head of Production

  • Harry Butcher

Harry heads up all of our production projects. He is the point of contact throughout the process, going to site visits, putting quotes together and generally looking after our clients.

Harry and Peter met when they were young children at a local drama club. They went on to work together at a local filming company which then lead on to them joining together to provide disco’s and technical services for local schools and venues. Harry went on to study Technical Theatre and Stage Management at RADA in London. He graduated in 2014 and found himself working as a freelance in multiple theatre and events projects, and sometimes helping out at LUX. In 2017 Peter asked Harry to join the team full time.

Harry enjoys going to live gigs and theatre. He also loves a craft beer! We sometimes spot him at the odd sample sale in London, he loves a designer bargain!

Rob leads the design for our digital based projects. He has a wide knowledge of various digital frameworks which allows him to create unique solutions for our clients. No project is the same for Rob, but he loves the flexibility and diversity of the role. He is constantly learning the latest technology to stay on top of the game.

Rob graduated from Leeds Beckett in 2010 where he studied Music and Visual Technology. This lead him to freelance for a year in the film and video industry. From there, Rob found himself working with Peter at LUX and together created the dream team!

Outside of work, Rob likes to switch off and play computer games! He also likes to catch up on all the missed sleep and eat lots of food. It is safe to say, LUX would not be what it is today without Rob.

You will always find Olivia at our events! She looks after our wonderful clients and strives to seek new business for us at LUX. She also manages our social media. Olivia studied Drama at the University of Lincoln.

When Olivia isn’t working she is catching up with friends and family, and taking her dog for long walks! She has to reach her 10,000 steps a day!

She studied Business at Quest Professional in London while also studying Acting at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. Following on from this, she started working with LUX. Having seen Peter grow LUX, Katherine was eager to get on board and continue to develop the business with her brother.

Outside of work you will find Katherine in the boxing ring or on the ski slopes. She is a lover of sports and a theatre fanatic!

Martin manages our logistics, health and safety and day to day operations of the business. He has a degree in Construction Management from the University of the West of England.

When Martin isn’t at work he enjoys all things active! His current goal is to complete an Iron Man event next summer, putting us all to shame!

Helen is based in our Warehouse where she looks after all of our accounts and payroll. She is the Mother of the team, looking after all of us! Helen joined the team in May 2015.

Outside of work, you will find Helen running around after her two sports mad boys! Helen enjoys getting away to the mountains to ski. She is also in the process of renovating her house… many years on.

His main focus was initially on sound and all things electrical. This soon developed into project management for events, installations and dry hire.

His enthusiasm for live music still lives on and he can still occasionally be found out gigging.

In his own time, Adam enjoys cycling and hiking with his dog, where he takes full advantage of scenic routes to add to his portfolio.

Conor reckons he lives to work! But when he is not working, he loves to Scuba dive! He is a qualified PADI scuba diver! On top of all of this, this year he got engaged!

Conor reckons he lives to work! But when he is not working, he loves to Scuba dive! He is a qualified PADI scuba diver! On top of all of this, this year he got engaged!

Warehouse Manager

  • Tom Chamberlain

Tom is based in our Warehouse where he manages all of our equipment. He prepares the kit for our upcoming projects, and hires. Tom knows everything about the Warehouse and he is our go-to man! Tom studied Production Arts at college.

Outside of work, Tom enjoys to relax after his busy days in the Warehouse. He is a very talented Pianist and has played for 14 years! He is also busy planning a wedding for May 2019!

When Sam isn’t at work, he loves to read fantasy fiction books. He also plays the drums! Before he joined the entertainment industry he wanted to be a chef. He still makes a mean chocolate cake!

David joined the team properly last year and is charged with the job of making sure the right things get to the right place at the right time. David has a lifetime’s experience in the logistics and haulage industry and holds an HGV class 1 which comes into play for many of our larger projects.

Though David wouldn’t admit it, he’s happiest behind the wheel of one of our 18 tonne lorries!
