Christmas party ideas
We can hear the faint sound of jingle bells just around the corner – that’s right, Christmas is on its way. At this year, like many of you, we are getting prepared ahead of time. It was picked up in the news last week that Selfridges, London, has opened its famous Christmas shop this year as early as August. Christmas truly is all around us, even in summer! Rather than resist, we take a moment to look at some of our favourite Christmas party ideas.
The approach to Christmas for the team at LUX Technical is very exciting. We get to try new products whilst planning festive events that really get people in the mood to party. Our creativity really shines through as we work with many of the UK’s leading prop design companies. This allows us to increase our portfolio and decorative Christmas party ideas for our clients. Christmas party design is always fun. (regardless of how early we start the planning process!)
Christmas is all around
One thing that always strikes us, particularly in London, is the abundance of exquisite festive design on the streets, in retail shops and in cultural destinations. Everyone loves a bit of Christmas craft. You can add something a little sparklier to designs in a way that you can only get away with at this time of the year. We are always so excited to visit Harrods and Fortnum & Mason’s at this time of the year. We’re eager to see their beautiful window displays that are reminiscent of old Christmas classics, stories and traditional toys. Is there anything better?
Furthermore, from a visual perspective we are inspired by the range of printed materials and graphic design that can be seen throughout this magical time of year. From bespoke wrapping paper, to oversized toy props, gift boxes and window vinyls. You can’t help but be inspired by just opening your eyes.
Why we love Christmas
Above all Christmas design for us is nostalgic. The idea of dressing a Christmas tree makes us think of family. The coming together and the start of merry making. Decorative baubles, angels with china faces and twinkling stars are symbols of magic that we are all so familiar with. The different sensory elements associated with Christmas again take a huge role in the extensive range of design that can be associated with the festive period. From the smell of tinsel to the sound of crackers being pulled over the not so loved scent of Brussels sprouts. It is always very exciting to reveal this season’s table scape. In addition, to then add ambient light to create charming, warm and intimate dining experiences.
Christmas for us isn’t so much as a period of indulgence, but more so a period of reflection and a time where creativity, in its full glory, is embraced, celebrated and rejoiced. This is clearly why the Christmas period is so important to our team and so many of the clients we work with.
